Swimming in Charco del Palo:The coast of Charco del Palo is a semi-height coast formed by black lava rocks. There are 3 beautiful swimming spots in place, 2 of them are tidal pools filling up at high tide with fresh water, another site allows swimming in the open sea. Especially the southern of the two tidal pools, directly in front of the Las Piteras apartments, is a wonderful place to sunbath sun and to swim. Further information regarding the beach.
Supermarkets:
In the village there is a small supermarket which can be reached from all apartments by foot. More supermarkets you will find in Mala (3km), Guatiza and Arrieta (approx 5km), as well as more and larger supermarkets (Euro Spar, Lidl) in Arrecife (about 30km away).
Eating in Charco del Palo:
in the village there are 3 restaurants that can be reached on foot from all holiday apartments. More restaurants are in Mala (3km), Guatiza (5km) and Arrieta (also about 5km), in Arrieta you get served daily fresh and typical fish from the island.
Shopping:
Charco del Palo is not a place for shopping ! Shopping centers in Lanzarote you can find in Teguise (20km), Costa Teguise (20 km), Arrecife (30km) and in Playa Honda (35km)
Markets:
On Saturdays in Haría, arts and handycraft market, 10AM - 2PM, about 10 away. On Sundays in Teguise, 10AM - 2PM, about 20km away. Fridays in Costa Teguise in Pueblo Marinero, 6PM - 10PM, also about 20km distance.
Excursions:
Island excursions to watch Lanzarote by tourist bus are not offered (thanks to god) from Charco del Palo. It is recommendable to have a hired car to discover the beauty of the island on your own. Car hire is very cheap on Lanzarote, and the vehicle can be brought to your accommodation. Prior reservation is highly recommended, especially during the high season in Lanzarote! Tourism:
The whole north of Lanzarote has a very low tourist frequency. In Charco del Palo there are also just a few apartments and bungalows for rent. The nearest major tourist resorts in Lanzarote are Costa Teguise (20km), Puerto del Carmen (40km) and Playa Blanca (60km)
Getting there:
to get to Arrecife on Lanzarote there are direct flights from many british airports. The flight time is about 4 hours. For the way from the airport to Charco del Palo, we recommend a rental car, but we will be glad to arrange a personal airport transfer for a more convenient arrival.
